Silk Care (Part 1)

It's in our best interest, and yours, to empower you to learn preventive care. With this in mind, you should know that of all the ruined clothing examined by experts, consumers account for almost 35% of it. Let's try to reduce that number!

Silk fabric — whether crepe de shine, satin or four-ply crepe — is fragile and easily marred. Here's some “first aid” insights for you:

  • Silk can lose color by simply rubbing the stain
  • A dry napkin can cause the fabric to dull or deluster
  • A wetted napkin (with water or club soda) can do even more damage
  • You can “blot” a stain with a dry white cloth or napkin, but never rub!
